Sorry, don't know if this is the right place for this question.
Because I am simply unable to do activities that help manage my trauma/depression at the office, my mood worsens significantly when I'm at work. Whenever, I've talked to a therapist or psychologist about this, they often suggest telling my works HR team about my mental health.
I'm just curious to know why this is. Everyone knows HR isn't on the employees side, they work for the company and the companies interests. It seems unwise to flag yourself as having potential issues. Besides, I don't really want the company to know about my personal health struggles anyway.

@Jlol I’d be going to my Union Organiser, before going to a company HR.
You’re vulnerable and hardly in a position to advocate for yourself. A Union’s job is to support and protect you. Enforce your rights and make sure the company is meeting its obligations to you.
