Here is a simple idea @Former-Member. Paint a background page any colours you like. Work in stripes across or up and down the page, mixing a couple of colours with white, not being too fussy about the neatness of it because it all adds character. Then draw other images ..... here is an example .... on another piece of paper (copy something someone else has drawn, and don’t mind if it’s not perfect or doesn’t look a lot like theirs ..... it will still come up beautiful in the journaling style.
Cut them out and glue them on your painted page, then draw a line around the edge of each pasted on piece with a texta in another colour. Let it all dry (you can use a hairdryer to help it along if you’ve got one) ......
Then write solething on it with a black (or other colour if you like) texta, and draw a box around each word or phrase, like this .....
Then draw a border all around the page to frame your work ...... colouring it in with textas if you like .....
Sign the bottom corner somewhere.
When it’s all completely dry, go over the whole surface with a glue stick or PVA glue to protect the work, and let that dry.

Here is a simple page @Former-Member ..... and anyone else who wants to give it a go .....
Don’t worry about what materials other people have used .... use whatever you have got ..... and if you are working in a journal, which can even be an old book from an op-shop - it’s cool to just to paint over the words on the printed pages but tear out every other page first to make the finished book not so thick - and glue two pages together to work on so the pages become a bit thicker like card.
Have fun ❣️

I had a seriously frightening Panic Attack this morning, & I tried to contact someone quickly. I am overwhelmed atm, with too much real life issues for me to cope with. I am sorry for upsetting you. @Former-Member was on line when I messaged her, but she did not see my Tag. There were no people on the phones as it was too early in the morning. I tried Lifeline, but they were very busy, & I could not wait on the phone so long. Fortunately, I had some meds that I took to help me. I am very uneasy about having the same thing happen to me again. I have no one to be there for me, & I can not give support to anyone the way I am atm.
My head has been aching all day today, & I am very unwell. Ruby is here with me, & I am trying to cope, the best way that I can. I will work it out, thank you @Faith-and-Hope
for allowing me to talk to you.
GOD BLESS you always!
You are a good Woman!
Love You!

You are blessed with Ruby there @Former-Member, but I am sorry to hear you are suffering this way. We will miss your sunshine and rainbows, but they need to work their magic inwardly for a while Hon .... self-care comes first .....
