Trauma

Past events that probably contributed to my mental health issues

I almost died from epiglotitis when I was 5 years old.

My sister ( 2 years younger) suffered from anorexia throughout our teens and was in and out of hospital.

When I was 18 years old my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer

At one point both my sister and mum were in the hospital at the same time

After a time of remission the cancer returned and spread throughout her body

When I was 24 years old my mum died. Cancer and chemo destroyed her body and brain

Re: Trauma

We are so sorry to hear how hard things have been for you. It must be so difficult to process these traumatic events @BorderlineGirl

Do you have supports in place?

Re: Trauma

Hi @BorderlineGirl

so sorry for the things that you have had to deal with, sounds really rough. Cancer is horrible! I’ve unfortunately had cancer and had family members battle it too, it’s all consuming. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mum.
I do hope you have some supports

Re: Trauma

I used to see a psychologist but I felt like it was pointless.

I have my husband and sister
