Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

@RiverSeal @Bunniekins @Dimity @rav3n @holdinghope5

A quick update wherei'm at at the moment.

i took the smallest effective dosage of an AD last night. Even though i know full well such will depress me. For as a person with Schizo-affective disorder, i cannot tolerate AD's much at all.

As a matter of fact only this one i can use for longer periods. i took it because i know i can sleep better on it. Once i used it for almost 2 years, sick and tired of not sleeping, and resigned myself to the depression that would follow, before it stopped helping me sleep, as well as making me sick of life lived like that.

So all in all i'm doing much better today than been the last 14 days. In my down cycle i have a lot less chance going psychotic, (although it is much more severe when it does, i usually see it coming now.)

i slept 7 hours last night over 3 sleep, the longest one being near 5 hours, so that was great. Neither did it cause bad nausea like the antipsychotics do, however i'm pretty down today, and still feeling tired and drained without the ability to sleep any longer.

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

thanks for the update @DownMoreThanUp!

i can see that you're cautious about the ADs, but i'm really glad to hear that you're feeling better today. i've got my fingers crossed that it continues to improve your sleep too 💙

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Thanks @rav3n for that reply, thanks for caring.

Another problem came up which at first i did not place along with the AD i took last night, but after my usual medication not working, and some more research, i do.

i have been really short of breath today. i thought my asthma was really bad today, so instead of my usual 3 dosage a day, morning, afternoon and evening, i have reverted back to every 4 hours max usuage, but still have the same shortness of breath.

Such a yucky feeling. Not at all sure if i should continue to use them now. Before i read some people say using this AD has wrecked their lungs permanently. That is the last thing i need. i already have Asthma, as well as Copd from my tobacco smoking years, and feel i need no more troubles with my lungs than i have already.

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

oh i see! perhaps reaching out to a medical professional might be a good idea - they can provide some extra info around the lung-related side effects given your history with copd? @DownMoreThanUp

i hope you do take it easy today. shortness of breath is no fun!

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Seeing him Thursday @rav3n. Was the earliest appointment i could get.

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

glad it's within the week! hopefully if there's any cancellations you might be able to see him earlier @DownMoreThanUp

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Glad you're sleeping a little better @DownMoreThanUp .

Feeling down, tired and drained goes with the territory in my experience - recovery takes physical and mental effort. Hope you're able to eat healthy and regularly while your system readjusts. I'm still working on a sensible sleep cycle.

Glad you're getting advice re shortness of breath. I just learned I have lung trouble,  it was incidental to another medical report.

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

Thanks a million for caring @Dimity.

i've been searching for near 30 years for something to help me get more sleep. So far only short lived temporary successes.

Re: Recovering from a psychotic episode at the moment.

@DownMoreThanUp   ive also got schizoaffective disorder with ptsd.  im on magic pills that help me sleep a bit which i am thankful for. glad you are feeling a bit better. take care. love bunx

Hi friends only very slowly recuperating. Sleep is still the big issue confronting me. Last night i got about 2 1/2 hours on a sleeper, and could not catch any more, though i tried for hours to get more, which is near the worst i have done. i will cause problems down the track i sure.

Luckily no nausea, nor any more voices, only some mild irritability yesterday afternoon.

This is taxing as.😔
