I can’t cope

Apparently when I was born we still had a black and white tv but my first memory is with colour. Yes the boxy one. We also only had ABC and one other channel! @tyme. We didn’t get other channels until a lot later. I think I was near the end of primary school. Yes rural. The old school games would have been so cool! I love Mario!!  

Oh.. we have a guy here that comes into town about once a week. How does he get into town? Horse and sulky!!! The tourists all take photos of it. But to us it’s just a regular site. 

Also I had to pick dad up from the other side of town the other day so I checked the timing. I’m on the western side 2 kms out of town and he was on the eastern side. It took me 13 minutes to get there. Does that give you an idea of how big/small our town is! 

The botanical gardens sound nice. I’d love to walk around them. 

2 hours is such a long time!! Are you running it or just in it? 

Sounds like a busy day. I’m guessing you have more work next week as well so it’ll be extra overload? 

Sounds like so much work training them up and getting them to understand how it all works. Sometimes it’s hard enough being us let alone being all over everything! 

Are you still working mondays now? Just not fridays anymore?

It's always funny to think back what things were 'like' back then. I also remember that household corded phone in the kitched that EVERYONE used. We had to sit in the kitchen for everyone to hear our conversations and we couldn't move because it was attached to the wall! Those ugly Telstra phones lol!

Early early, I also remember the round dial phones!

Erghhh. Wow, things have changed so now we have the world in our pockets on a sim card. Who knows what the next 5 years will bring!

When I tell the kids that there was no such thing as internet back then, they are shocked and cannot fathom what it would've been like!

As for the training sessions, I'm running some, buth Ru-bee and Rav3n have run some too, I think. I create the main outline of the preso, then they go through it. 

With my work days, I'm really not sure yet. I may move only to weekdays, and not do Sunday, or I may have one weekend day? 

There are just a lot of shift changes at the moment. Most of the team changed their hours recently, but I didn't. So my changes will come soon, but I still don't know what hours I'll do yet.

Yes the phone for everyone! We didn’t even get one until I was 15. So we lived life without a phone. Can’t imagine that now. Kids these days will never know what it’s like to use an encyclopaedia or look up things in the library. I reckon we grew up in the best time. @tyme. No social media.. nothing you did was plastered everywhere. Everything was just so simple. 

It sounds like a team effort. Everyone working together. Did you plan the preso or just do it an hour before it was due! 😜 just stirring. 

I’ve noticed different PSW’s around at different times. I’m getting more comfortable with most of them there is just one that I’m scared of.

I like the evening shifts. They are the busiest. I like working everyday, but you're not allowed so I need to take at least 2 days off each week. 

Sometimes I lurk though because if I'm away for 2 days, I feel I've missed out on so much! FOMO!!!

Oh, just a heads up that at the end of the year, I'll be taking about 6 weeks off because I'll be overseas. You can't access the forums overseas. I'll be sooo lost when I get back in the new year lol.

The most I’m on is of a night. It’s more when I sitting and just chilling. 

Have you decided to go back to the US? How long are you going to India for?

Oh! US, I'm supposed to have a meeting for on Tuesday, but I think the date changed. I'll know once I get to this meeting. 

India will be 6 weeks - I think. I'll double check with my sis. She got the tickets but I paid the money lol. @Captain24 

Yeah, I don't really like the morning shifts as much. There's more time to do other stuff, but less time on the forums. 

And yes, I think I like this role because it's connection with people. When I don't connect that much in real life, this fulfill my need for connection I reckon.

6 weeks is a long time. Do you have an itinerary or just winging it? Don’t forget the notebook for the littlests antics! 

Are you excited for it? 

In my ACE model I use here as my connection. So I get it as I don’t connect much either.

It might not be the ideal to still have to 'finish' your to-do list before you can slow down @Captain24 but it's a start. Eventually I imagine your body will get used to having the afternoon 'off' and it will be easier to transition from task-mode to chill-mode. 

It is totally gonna take time hun - and like for me, it wasn't like one day I woke up and felt 'good enough' or 'worthy'... it's more like I got to a point where I noticed that I wasn't berating myself as much, or I was able to reassure myself instead of needing to ask someone. You will get there because you are putting in the work - recovery is just often very slow, and not always immediately noticeable. I got faith in you tho 💜

OH before I go - I am taking some time off! It crept up on me, didn't realise this was my last shift till September 😮 I will miss y'all soooooo much!! But Jynxy gotta do some spring cleaning!! And relaxing - whatever that means 😋

It's the little firecrackers' bday soon so my sister is organising her birthday party at the park with her little friends. The kids all get a birthday gathering before they go to school @Captain24 I think she wants to do it this Saturday. 

The firecracker has been a brat lately. She always wants to watch Sheriff Labrador (some kid's show?). But she's not allowed so she screams the place down. 

The other day, she came to my room, held my earlobes, cried and fell asleep.

No, the US trip is in Nov. The India trip is in December. 

But before that, my sis has booked a camping trip so we gotta get that one done first!

Too much going on. But I have to keep telling myself that once they are older, they won't want to come anymore.

I’ve been left feeling really uncertain of myself, uncertain of everything about me. Really unsure. Really uneasy. Do you think I’m a horrible person that needs changing?

Oh no.. I’ll miss you. So that’s 4 weeks? The whole time I’m on holidays? You deserve time to yourself.
