Re: The great yoga adventure

I really like Yin I am not very good at it but I find it very relaxing. What is everyone's favourite type of Yoga?

Re: The great yoga adventure

@soul I am all booked in for my second class tomorrow night. Yay, stay tuned for the second episode of the great yoga adventure. I super hope you join @CheerBear and me soon @soul. Smiley Happy

@Ant7 I don't know enough about yoga to even know what sort of yoga I'm doing. Smiley LOL I THINK it is hatha yoga. Maybe I will get brave and ask the teacher tomorrow night.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@Phoenix_Rising I just got home from Yin it is super relaxing even though i am very not flexible

Re: The great yoga adventure

I'm glad you are feeling nice and relaxed now @Ant7. Yoga really is pretty cool. I'm super glad I finally got brave enough to go to a class.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I shall call them soon and see what they suggest for beginners @Phoenix_Rising. They do have a one month unlimited special offer I might try.

Re: The great yoga adventure

I woke up with a big case of 'this is all too hard and I want to lie in bed all day'. If it wasn't for the kids I can see how much harder it would be to fight this one. I don't want to go to yoga today and my excitement has faded and turned into a million reasons why I shouldn't go today, which is even more reason to push myself to actually go today.

I felt really good after class last week and will try to remember that throughout the day. I have a big list of things to do today that are mostly for the kids, so if I can put this one thing on my list that is for me and no-one else and then check it off, it will be a really good thing.

Happy yoga day @Phoenix_Rising, I hope you're feeling a bit more positive about your adventure than I am this morning.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hi @CheerBear,

I am super struggling too. I feel utterly despairing over seeing therapist-take-eleven and the hopelessness and big feelings around that are filling up my brain. I too feel like it is all too hard.

SO...this sounds like a perfect opportunity to practice doing the opposite action. It sounds like this evening we will be not-friends, together but not, doing something that we want to do but not. Smiley Happy

Maybe we need to put a call out to our cheer squad? Hey @soul @Ant7@Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member, CheerBear and I appear to have misplaced our motivation. If anyone sees any spare motivation laying around anywhere can you please send it our way?

Happy yoga day @CheerBear. Smiley Happy

Re: The great yoga adventure

Oh, boy exercising is sometimes soooo hard and you just don't want to go. Especially if it's cold and miserable outside which it so often is.

It's frustrating because you know you will feel so good once the class is done, so I hope @CheerBear and @Phoenix_Rising can muster that motivation. My hot tip: get ready for it early, so you're not rushed and stressing about getting there on time. I have a bad habit of running late to all things in life.

I hope you both can make it tonight! I'll be cheering you on  Smiley LOL

Re: The great yoga adventure

Step 1 - getting showered and dressed is done @Former-Member. Thank you for cheering us on 🙂

I have to leave soonish. It feels like it might be a race to get back in time for school pick up after it and that's not helping my motivation to go today either. I am trying to remember that my banana brain likes to turn a 15 minute drive into a '25 minute drive because I might get lost, plus 5 minutes to find a park, plus 15 minutes to allow for unexpected traffic, plus another 10 minutes to allow for something happening like finding a lost kitten on the side of the road or getting pulled over for a random breath test'. History tells me that the amount of time I have between things is likely to be enough though, and even if I am late for school all I will need to do is call and the lovely teachers will look after my littles with all the other littles who have parents running a little late because stuff sometimes happens, and that I won't be too far away.

I'm not sure what's harder to overcome. Feeling seriously scared and anxious like I was last week, or feeling just plain miserable like I do today mixed in with the normal anxiety that I live with.

I've been thinking heaps about "do the opposite" and how rarely does this not help @Phoenix_Rising. We will feel good at the end of it, knowing not only are we doing something healthy and productive, but we are also sticking to the plan, challenging ourselves to get out of our stuckness and overcoming our fears. All the while doing it together but not, with some funky style too (ducks).

I love that sign @soul 🙂 You make an awesome cheer squadder, thanks.

I better get some stuff done so I can go feeling less like I have left the house looking like as hideous as it does at the moment 😕

I can do this. We can do this @Phoenix_Rising 🙂
