Thanks for the tag @Shaz51. Hello @Former-Member, I havent seen you here yet. Are you currently doing yoga, or is it something you are thinking of taking up?
Like @Adge, I am not a regular at yoga classes. But I do have a gym membership and try to attend a Yoga/Pilates class once a week. Unfortunately I've had other more pressing commitments due to a very ill husband the past couple of weeks. So its meant I havent been able to attend my class since before Christmas. I'm going to be totally out of shape by the time I get back. Urgh. Oh well.
How are our other yogini's going lately? @Phoenix_Rising @frog @Former-Member.

Hi @Former-Member I am finding it hard to exercise in the heat. On good days I do a little yoga sequence in the mornings. I have 2 that I alternate. They are short, so I can fit them in before work. Can't afford classes and would be embarressed because I'm somewhat stout and my chubby legs and tummy limit what I can do!

Hi @frog, yes I agree about the heat. Its terribly hard to motivate yourself to exercise when its 40 odd degrees. Thats one of the reasons why the gym is good to get to, because its comfortably air conditioned.
As far as my gym class is concerned, there are all shapes, sizes, genders and ages there, and nobody seems to be self conscious. I guess we are all there for the same reason, so it really doesnt matter. The classes I usually get to, have about 8-12 people most weeks, which is quite good.
I'm sorry you are unable to afford a gym pass. I am able to buy a cheap 10 visit pass at my local YMCA. Although I'm not a pensioner, they gave it to me at pensioner price, so it worked out very cheap. Only works out at about $3 per visit.
At least you are still doing your short yoga sequences on some days, and thats the important thing. I have both a yoga and a pilates Video which I use occasionally when I'm unable to make it to the gym for the classes for any reason. But like you, its hard to do at home, when its been so hot.
Keep up the good work. Even a little bit a couple of times a week, can be a great benefit.
Sherry xx

My yoga classes are back on - yay!
I've been to my 2 regular classes this week.
I'm feeling stiff & a bit inflexible, due to lack of practice.
We did lots & lots of Downward Dogs (no not my favourite), Bridges, Salute to the Sun, twists sideways...
They never allow enough time for Shavasana (resting) - My yoga teacher said that Shavasana was the only thing (motivation) that kept her coming back to yoga classes (for years)...

Hi all,
Long time no see here in the great yoga adventure. I am feeling quite frustrated because I hurt my arm just before Christmas and it isn't better yet. Thus my yoga adventure is on hold and I superly duperly want to get back to it. I'm thinking I really need to get along to a class and just be a bit careful.
Maybe we need to start up our pose-of-the-week again to get us all motivated! We have about six months worth of poses sitting on this thread so I'm wondering if we should maybe start back at the beginning and cycle through them again?
@frog there are people of all shapes and sizes in the yoga class I go to. My teacher makes a point of emphasising that yoga is for everybody and you definitely don't need to have one of those bodies like so many of the annoyingly fit looking yogis on youtube seem to have!

Hi @Former-Member and other fellow yogis (@Phoenix_Rising; @Adge; @frog; @Shaz51)! 😄
How have you all been? I really need to get back into the swing of yoga-ing for this year - things have not slowed down yet for me!
Wishing that you all are well!

Would love to get back into yoga @Phoenix_Rising but my shattered shoulder and nerve damage throughout my arm means that it won't be happening any time soon.
Probably not worth going to classes when the only pose I can manage is Shavasana @Adge

Hi @Former-Member @Former-Member @soul,
Yep, I definitely want to get back into yoga-ing. I managed to give myself tennis elbow while playing in the garden before Christmas and it isn't better yet. My GP said it can take quite a while to get better. I'm scared that if I'm not vaguely careful with it, it will become chronic.
I will try to start working back through our yoga adventure and perhaps we can recycle all the poses that we've done.
It sounds like you are going to be out of action for quite a while @soul.
