Re: I can’t cope

I’ve just come back from the GP.. I didn’t get a lecture about stopping my meds. He said I had probably already heard it enough.

He has started me back on the last medication. It should help me go to sleep better, rather than 1 or 2 am. If not he has given me a different sleeping med to try.

He said the me 12 months ago wouldn’t have gotten through the stopping of the meds. He believes I have come a long way. I told him how bad I actually was, the crisis level since it took me to ED and that I’m still far from good. The old me would still be in crisis and probably involuntarily admitted.

It’s good to hear that I have made a lot of progress.

Re: I can’t cope

Sometimes we need other people @Captain24 to see the progress that we have made.

I hope the sleeping med helps and you can get back into some sort of routine with your sleep.

Re: I can’t cope

It was nice to hear @Snowie and I accepted it. Which is also some growth.

Im hoping getting to sleep improves. I’ll try with just the anti-psychotic that I am restarting first and go from there. I’m still getting full sleep mostly but I can’t keep sleeping in so long when I’ve got nothing on.

This sleeping tablet is new out. It’s expensive and cost me $70. Apparently it’s really good. My GP said it has a similar sleeping result as a benzo. I’d share the name if I could.

How is your day going?

Re: I can’t cope

It is nice to hear @Captain24

Sometimes it is hard to see it within ourselves.

Wow, that is a lot for some meds, I really hope they work for you.

When do you go back to work?

My day is going ok. Had a shower and got dressed so a significant improvement on yesterday!!

Re: I can’t cope

I pay the same for my anti-psychotic and it’s only for a month @Snowie. My other meds are $40, I only get one at health care card price. Also I can’t claim them in my private health insurance. I need my job just to pay for meds.

I go back to work on Monday. I sent what the Dr wrote straight to the guy at work so it should be sorted by the time I’m due back.

Im glad you managed a shower and got dressed. It feels like such an achievement but also you feel a little better. I did too but I had to go to the GP so it was a necessity.

Do you have much planned for the day?

Re: I can’t cope

It's sad when we need a job to pay for our meds @Captain24 I'm glad you can afford what you need, but also realise that paying for meds should be much easier.

Thats good that you have a back to work date. Hopefully things go smoothly for you when you return.

Not much planned for the day. Just made some banana bread and it is baking in the oven now. Made it into little loafs so easy for S and D to take to school and Hubby to take to work.

My house is smelling nice!!

Have you got anything else on?

Re: I can’t cope

Hi @Snowie @Captain24

How're you both?

Banana bread is my favorite @Snowie! Is it easy to make at home?

Great news about going back to work soon @Captain24. Are you feeling a bit relieved? 🙂

Re: I can’t cope

Hi @lavenderhaze

I'm ok. Could do with a break from my brain however 🤦‍♀️

The recipe I use is easy. Only takes about 10mins to prepare and then into the oven it goes.

How is your day going?

Re: I can’t cope

The price of them is ridiculous @Snowie.

I hope the banana bread is good. I can’t bake! Wouldn’t even know where to start.

Hi @lavenderhaze

It’s good to know that I can go back. It is a massive relief.

As for the rest of my day..mum is dropping Keiko off soon and I have to look after her until tomorrow night. I’m suppose to try and take 3 dogs for a walk but not sure that I’m up to it.

Re: I can’t cope

Oh @Snowie I can relate to you today. I need a break from my brain as well.

Are you doing anything to distract yourself? Baking sounds like a good escape. Do you do that often? 🙂

Aww, three doggos? That's a lot to handle, for sure, @Captain24, but I guess that also means triple the love! ❤️
