Hey @Ru-bee
Its good to see you.
Thanks for the tip. I really appreciate it. I haven’t done one for 20 years and I hated it but this one is Eastern Rosellas so I had to get it and give it another go.

Oooh beautiful, I love rosellas! And Eastern ones are extra beautiful @Captain24
Do you have much on this afternoon?

They are my favourite bird @Ru-bee. Between them and tigers they are my favourite animals behind dogs of course.
Im trying to talk myself into taking the dogs for a walk. Then I might do some Lego. I’m trying to not go back to bed.
Do you have plans for when you finish?

That sounds like a nice day @Captain24 Do the dogs like long walks or just short ones?
If you feel comfortable posting a picture I'd love to see the finished product of the paint by numbers whenever you finish it!
I think after work I might go to savers and see what's there, and then I think I'll take Toby to the park. We took him yesterday to an oval that was completely fenced in and let him off the lead for the first time. I was so convinced it would be a bit of a disaster because I didn't think his recall was good enough but I thought we'd try it and do some training while we were there...It turned out he had perfect recall! I don't know if we just got lucky but every time I called him he came immediately. He also had a bit of a frolic in the grass and just seemed to have such a good time which was great because he doesn't love going on walks so this could be a good alternative sometimes. Anyway I'm going to take him back there after work to see if it was just a fluke, plus it's 18 degrees here today which feels like spring so I want to make sure I'm getting some vitamin D

I don’t usually take them. Mum does when she has them. Jett would just keep going but Pix is over weight and gets tired easily so it’ll be kinda a mid length walk. I don’t like walking anyway! @Ru-bee
I let Pix off the lead when I go to the beach. She just runs straight for the water and does what she wants. I can’t let Jett off as he runs up to dogs and his way of playing is biting so other dogs don’t like it. I’ve gotten him a 15m lead so he can run but I still have some control. I’ll see how it goes in October. Taking them to the dog park is hard, neither of them like it.
Im glad you found something Toby likes. It’s great that he has such good recall already. I think training will be easy as he sounds quite good. I hope it goes just as well for you today!
It’s really windy here so it’s only 10 degrees. But I guess it’s sunny so I’ll get some vitamin D.
I’ll definitely post a photo and I’ll tag you in it. It’ll take me a little while though.

Oh no Jett! That's not how we like to play 😂😂 @Captain24
Yeah my parents use a long lead for their dog which is great. I don't think I'd trust Toby anywhere that wasn't enclosed, and I don't know how he'd go around other dogs off lead as there weren't any there yesterday...I guess we might see today!

We just went for a half hour walk. @Ru-bee. Pix is exhausted and as much as I hate to admit it, I feel good. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces. It was so good to see.
They have 5 metre leads for general walking. It’s kind enough for them to be able to sniff wherever they want but to still have complete control.
It’ll be interesting to see how he goes as you don’t know whether he has been around other dogs. I hope he goes ok. A dog just came running up to me two and they froze. Then the kids came running up and that scared them. Jett bared his teeth. Neither of them like kids but they have never been around kids.

Good on you for going on that walk @Captain24 sounds like you all had a good time (other than the kids running up to the doggies)
It's time for me to hop off and go on my own walk. I hope you have a great afternoon and have a good time with your lego. I'll catch up with you during the week!

Howdy @Captain24 😋
I think 'undoing' those faulty childhood beliefs is a process - not some magic thought or action that will suddenly 'click', but the result of gentle, repeated shifts in how you are choosing to see things. Very simple example would be trying to consciously (and preferably very gently, and without shaming) remind yourself that rest and relaxation are NOT to be earned because they're essential to survival. You don't need to 'earn' brushing your teeth or drinking water; resting is just another daily habit - not a reward for working hard.
Maybe also something like... if you usually reward something like 'getting all household cleaning tasks done' with resting, change the reward to something that's actually a treat, and practice also taking the time to rest even if you haven't finished the list for the day. Like 'okay if I wanna earn my (hot chocolate, bubble bath, indulgent snack, etc) tonight I gotta finish at least all the dishes and laundry' but then no matter what, you are taking some me time and doing some Lego; only difference is whether you also earned dessert!
These are just thoughts on things to try, I think you will figure out your own way. Just remember these changes don't happen overnight.
Oh a clean fridge!! Love that! I managed to clear off my bathroom sink last night, and it really does bring on a sense of calm when there's a nice clean white surface and not a whole bunch of visual noise 😅
Did you figure out how to do the paint by numbers? I would personally go colour by colour but that's just cos I would get all confused with too many paints on the go - and make way more of a mess! Like I'd probably accidentally dip the red paintbrush in the yellow paint pot and then oopsie my sunflowers are orange now 🤣
