Re: Winter solstice

@rav3n @Dimity

I have appointment via Zoom booked late next month with pain management doctor to ask all the questions I have plus to advise if I have decided to have the first procedure done.

dr has said if I agreed to have first procedure done the staff will organise consent forms etc so I don’t have to attend the hospital.  I will go onto wait list, current wait time is approx 2 to 3 months.    May take up to 9 mths before having all 3 procedures done.

I miss going for walks and doing chair yoga plus being able to do my craft items.

All the information I’ve read says no general anaesthetic used, only local anaesthetic into soft tissue around where needles to be inserted.  I’ve had vein procedures involving local anaesthetic, not a pleasant experience

Re: Winter solstice

@Patches59 up to 9 months is long, but i've got my fingers crossed that after each procedure you'll feel a more and more relief. do you know what the recovery time for each procedure is?

sucks that they can only give anaesthetic, i really hope that this time around it'll be better and that the support team there treat you well. you can get through this, i believe in you.

i can't wait for you to be able to go back to doing things you love, sending you gentle hugs 💜

Re: Winter solstice

@Appleblossom  I’m similar with movement, music and physio, there is only so much benefit that can do.  Hot and/or cold packs  plus rest is only things I can do during parts of most days.  Warm or cold weather doesn’t make much different to my joints.  Lots of rain make My hands, shoulders, spine and knees worse.

info my rheumatologist gave me couple years ago ….. the good news is it’s OA, bad news is it’s in more than half my joints and there is nothing she could do.  Her recommendation was pain management clinic, compression gloves, splints for thumb and wrist for both hands plus movement.

Re: Winter solstice

Sounds as though you've been suffering quite a while @Patches59 . Hope the 2-3 months before the first procedure is manageable.

Re: Winter solstice

@NatureLover thanks for working with me today. I've mostly caught up now. A friend is renovating but I doubt I'll ever be able to do that myself. The decluttering and project management needed feel beyond me.

Re: Winter solstice

Well done, @Dimity !

And thank you too 🙂

Re: Winter solstice

@NatureLoverhey, good to see you.

 @Dimity @Patches59  Sending you both gentle healing thoughts. Dealing with chronic pain is pretty wearing. We want to have other conversations but at some point we have to acknowledge it. Good luck with your journey with the Medial Branch block Patches.

chocolate ...chocolate ...I

I am hopeless, I think chocolate fixes everything…

Re: Winter solstice

Nice to see you too, @Appleblossom !
