Rumor about Free Diploma of Mental Health course offering
Hi! I'm wondering if anyone of you heard any rumour about the government making courses like Diploma of Mental Health free from 2019?
According to this post https://www.training.com.au/ed/free-tafe-courses-in-victoria-courses-to-be-announced/, all the free TAFE courses announced in early May correlate to skills shortages in Victoria, and with 10 remaining courses yet to be announced. It looks like a course in mental health might be included.
Original VIC government announcement is found through this link: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/educationstate/Pages/freetafe.aspx_

Re: Rumor about Free Diploma of Mental Health course offering
Hi @jeric,
Cert IV in Mental Health is on the list but diploma is not listed.
List of courses and conditions is here: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/educationstate/Pages/freetafe.aspx
List says "tuition free" so there could be other costs.
Not all TAFEs will offer all courses. My son and I know from direct experience that some TAFEs are much better than others.
